Wednesday, December 26, 2007 Did you leave your manners @ home?
 Yes, please check.. in case you have... Its getting overwhelming..The audacity some people have with regards to their behaviour in public is appalling.There is no hiding it.. Singapore, has been listed as one of the least courteous country in the world. And, hey... knock knock.. that is not a big surprise. For instance, I was at Parco with my family and my sis and i went to get a drink from one of the shops at the basement.. The service was horrendous. It was super slow not because there were lots of customers as I was THE ONLY ONE. It was super slow because the staff was busy chatting with one another. OK, that aside.. As I have been waiting for quite a bit, I placed the money for my drink on the counter and when my drink was ready, I took it, grabbed a straw and walked off. ( Like any normal person ). To my horror, the staff banged her hands on the counter demanding that I placed the cash on HER HANDS. I was shocked and before I could do anything, my sis shoved my hands aside and screamed at the woman, " You have hands so get the money yourself and check your customer service please!". With that she pulled me away. Another instance, today in the train, I got a seat at Tampines and started reading my magazine. After Simei, I realised that there was only ONE person standing ( it was not crowded ) so I looked up and I saw that it was an old lady. I looked around me and saw the awful scene where the youngsters who were sitting, giving her a blank stare. Ok so.. its not like im a samaritan or whatever but there was nothing else to do except to give up my seat. For the next stations, more people came on board. I was standing between another old lady and a middle aged one. The passenger in front of me stood up emptying his seat to leave and before any 3 ( me and the other 2 ladies )of us could move, WAL-LA, a young man, dressed to the nines, with his designer frame specs, smart shirt and pants, Gatsby-like-gelled hair and polished shoes, slid in and SAT DOWN.  Big WOW... He did not even look up.. oblivious to the fact that there were more needy ppl who would like the seat. He took out his mobile and started chatting on the phone.ok enough said.. its just OUTRAGEOUS. *Note : 1) My sister does not tolerate bad service.
